More about YOGA from Tutor Tony Cranston
The first rule of Yoga is AHIMSA non-violence, not only to others but also to your self during your Yoga practice / class.
There are only two speeds - very slow and stop!
All movements, postures and stretches are meant to be done only as far as comfortable to you.
Any other way IS NOT yoga.
“There is no gain without pain”. Of course this is totally rubbish!
Please tell me if you have any physical or emotional problems when you start and any week, there are changes you think I should know about. I can accommodate just about anything.
We have a lot of laughs doing our Yoga. We do not stand on our heads or wrap our legs around our neck as they do on T.V.
If there are any areas you wish to work on - speak up and I will see what I can do for you.
I will be giving you lots of handouts with the exercises etc. I also have many relaxation/meditation CD’s available and a new DVD Yoga for Beginners. With a new book, The Secrets of Meditation, in the process.
I’ve been teaching Yoga, Tai Chi and Alexander Technique for over 30 years to all ages and abilities in the U.K., Netherlands, China and U.S.A. They say my speciality is relaxation.
Enjoy your class, HAVE FUN.
If an exercise form has been around for over 6,000 years - it must be good.
